Our guest on this year’s Father’s Day edition of @Sree’s Sunday #NYTReadalong is Tom Jolly, an associate masthead editor for The New York Times, who oversees production of the newspaper. This is Tom’s third appearance on the show. In 2019, before the pandemic, we “read” the paper with him at his kitchen table. In 2020, just after the pandemic shut everything down, he joined us on Father’s Day and told us about how The New York Times was putting out the paper with very few people in the office.

Earlier this week, Dean Baquet stepped down as executive editor of The New York Times and Joe Kahn stepped in. Tom will share his thoughts on the continued transformation of The Times and the move to live coverage on a global scale.
We’ll also review some notable front pages and special print sections including the shooting in Uvalde, Texas; The New York Times’ coverage of the one millionth Covid death, the recent special report on the ransom Haiti has paid France over the past two hundred years and the modern-day record of consecutive banner headlines on one topic: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
We have been reviewing the print edition of the Sunday New York Times for six and a half years.
The show is produced by Digimentors. We produce high-quality virtual and hybrid events for organizations big and small around the world. We also do social and digital consulting, training and workshops.
Neil Parekh is the executive producer and occasional guest host. Paula Kiger helps produce the show, engaging with the audience on Facebook and LinkedIn.
